This week, there wasn’t a big selection, but definitely good hip hop. And this week, Rhymesayers Entertainment brought everybody the debut album of this dude, Grieves. Paired up with fellow friend and producer Budo, Together/Apart went hard. This hip hop just hooked itself onto my ears and I couldn’t help but listen to the whole thing. This is definitely a dope album that everybody should buy! It’s a nice alternative/hip hop album, and I haven’t heard one of those in a minute. He’s got very smooth vocals, and the beats are definitely the ones you chill to, with the horns, shakers and chill bassline. His lyrics are true and you can tell; real spittin’. Definitely a must have. Go get it (if I haven’t said that enough already). So, my rating…

9.5/10

I recommend this album to any fan of Atmosphere, Slug, Blue Scholars, Blu, or anybody who has that kind of alternative/hip hop sound.
