Parallel Thought: The Art of Sound

parallel-thought-the-art-of-sound

It’s about time another instrumental project made it as Hip Hop Album of the Week. After releasing a collaboration project with Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Parallel Thought came out with his solo project The Art of Sound. This masterful collection of beats have an extremely spacey aura to them. The opening track didn’t draw me in very well, but “Polyrhythmatic” quickly became a hypnotizer for me. Parallel Thought takes a very unique approach to hip hop production by adding a touch of electronic and keeping their beats simple, but mystifying. Nearly every track sounds like it could be background music to a mystery movie. Personally, I really dislike the features on this album and wish it was just a straight-through instrumental project, but the tracks in between the feature tracks are dope enough to cover any lost ground. If you like to take your mind on a musical trip, then definitely check out this album. You can stream the entire album below for FREE. So, my rating…

9/10

I recommend this album to any fan of spacey (somewhat electronic) hip hop.
