Now this is solid hip hop for 2012, y’all. Florida emcee Kb da Boss recently released the old-school visuals to his dope track “Til It’s Gone [Remix/Cover]” featuring fellow rappers John Q and Sucoo. Now, the beat is the one Q-Tip produced for Janet Jackson way back when, and I personally think this is one of Tip’s greatest productions, so when I heard that this guy was rapping over it, my first thought was that “he better do this beat more than justice.” Well, I’m here to tell you that he did. He’s got the confidence and the lyrical ability to back that. Then John Q comes in all slick and cool and very quick with his rhymes. Sucoo has a nice start/stop flow that actually works (unlike in most popular mainstream songs). All three emcees make this song great and I know I’m going on and on, but this track is really great.
