Dilla, Dilla, Dilla. That’s all that I hear when I listen to underground beat tapes nowadays, but whether that’s a good or bad thing is for another day. Murk daddy flex is undoubtedly another Dilla influenced producer, but he’s one of my favorites. He just released his final installment of the four-season based series. The LP is titled MDF. I have to admit that many of the artists I find through HHSE don’t last long on my library after my review of them. However MDF (the artist) has been revisited again and again. When it seems like his jazz and ambient beats couldn’t improve, he continues to sample from sources that prove his daring personality. Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, and something akin to Ornette Coleman pepper this album and make it a worthwhile finale. I’m just hoping this guy makes it somewhere in the future; he definitely deserves it.
