Among the realm of smokers anthems and vibrant, deep soundscapes stands Detroit’s OZE FLVSH and his halfway self-titled debut, FLVSH. As the emcee looks to make a name for himself, OZE FLVSH mixes jazz-based atmospheres with a mellow lyrical delivery. There are some great tracks on this album; at the same time, there are points on the project where OZE FLVSH and his cohorts fall short. Despite this, FLVSH depicts a rapper with an ability to create songs for those digging more potent lyricism, as well as dirtier trap-infused songs for those looking for a banger to tune in to. The versatility is apparent, the delivery is an area that can be worked on. Nevertheless, FLVSH is a promising effort by the Detroit newcomer and we can expect the emcee to move up from here.
