Somehow the world seemed to sleep on Hir-O‘s Halos EP released at the end of last year. Even I failed to catch the Mellow Orange release, but alas, there’s no time like the present. And so, I charge you to listen to the producer’s electronic/dance-infused instrumental hip-hop project and float away to the buzzy, astral sounds that lace their ways in and out of the groovy rhythms. These songs are compiled from both of Hir-O’s The Voyage Home and The Freakstrumental Joint, and it’s used to get Mellow Orange fans a taste of the beatsmith. You may think you know Hir-O as the producer for Detroit rapper Red Pill‘s The Kick album, but I bet you don’t know him like this. FREE stream and download of Halos EP available below. Also, by the sounds of the latest single, be on the lookout for Hir-O’s Emissary album dropping next month.
