Stepping onto a scene abound with wavy, electronic, trap-influenced sounds, Nashville rapper Jung Youth keeps it relatively traditional on his new mixtape, Yada Yada. Immediately, there’s a slight resemblance to Mac Miller in Jung Youth’s voice, but the southern rapper has a sort of quirk all his own. Also, thanks to production by Central Parks, Youth has a horn-laced, boom-bap inspired soundscape as far as his beat selection goes. Yada Yada is a chance for Jung Youth to shuffle his way to relevancy and through the seventeen tracks on this full-bodied project, he does a fair job.
