C’mon, like we were gonna’ let this album go without makin the top spot on The Hip Hop Speakeasy!? How many years have fans of 9th been waiting for this??? DON’T MATTER NOW CAUSE IT’S HERE! Not gonna’ lie though, there were sooo many albums worth the top spot on the Hip Hop Speakeasy this week (check the notable mentions below) but 9th Wonder’s album The Wonder Years deserved it, it just plain deserved it. Where do I start? Can I just say, that 9th Wonder has gotta be one of the top 5 producers out right now, hands down! Every 9th beat is just bound to knock, don’t you agree? But man, the features… KENDRICK LAMAR, TALIB KWELI, PHONTE, MURS, FASHAWN… IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! The artists featured on these beats threw some of the best verses I’ve heard in a while. This project has been one dope one in the making and we can all thank 9th for finally puttin’ it out by BUYING IT! So, my rating…

8/10

I recommend this album to any fan of soul-type beats and rappers such as Evidence, Little Brother, De La Soul, etc…
