It’s been far too long since we heard from Detroit’s hip-hop quartet, Clear Soul Forces. We last heard from the group back in 2013 with their Gold PP7s album which followed up their breakout Detroit Revolution(s) record, long-considered one of our favorite albums of 2012. So at long last, Clear Soul Forces dropped Cheat Codes EP this weekend featuring three dope, video-game influenced tracks for your listening pleasure. Illajide took a step back from producing and instead, Scott Xylo, Astronote and Nameless offer up their own takes on jazzy, 8-bit weaponry for the unparalleled lyricists to rhyme over. The Cheat Codes EP acts as Clear Soul Forces’ checkpoint before dropping their highly-anticipated new full-length, Fab5ive coming soon. Stream the new EP by CSF below and head over to their Bandcamp to grab your digital copy.
