Today we mourn the tragic death of the late-great rapper and influential hip hop aritist Tupac Amaru Shakur. Some consider 2Pac the greatest rapper of all time, but I think we can all agree that he was indeed great. From starting his career as a groupie and backup dancer for Digital Underground, to puttin’ out hits like “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” “I Get Around,” and more famously “California Love” off of his 9x Platinum album All Eyez on Me, 2Pac was an amazing artist.

On September 7th, 1996, 2Pac was shot in Las Vegas after a boxing match, leaving him mortally wounded. After six days of being in the hospital, even after being resuscitated and surviving several surgeries, 2Pac passed away 4:03 pm on September 13th, 1996 due to respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest. 15 years later, his legacy and words still live on through his songs.
