Here we go – we got a release from Actual Proof, a hip hop duo who’s home belongs to It’s A Wonderful World Music Group (9th Wonder’s label). This album is real good; allow me to explain. I’ve heard Actual Proof on various tracks, featuring on several songs by artists off of 9th’s label. This is the first time I’ve listened to an album solely by them and I am floored. The beats knock, the lyrics are genius, the sound is amazing. I especially like the title track – the horns are sublime. They take a break from the easy-going, chill hip hop with the hard-knocking “Skate Kids II” and continue to impress through the rest of the album, again going back to the chill sound, but lyrical murder on tracks like “Fonk It Up” and “I Got You”. Their sound is unique and is definitely one that you should go out and buy! If you wanna’ listen before buying, go over to DJ Booth and preview the entire album! (*Also, there are a lot of dope notable mentions, so check them after the bump). So, my rating…

9/10

I recommend this album to any fan of North Carolina-hip hop, such as artists like 9th Wonder, Big Remo, Skyzoo, Little Brother (Rapper Big Pooh & Phonte) and anyone who sounds like these guys.
