Cloud. has returned! The now Brooklyn-based beatsmith has returned two years after his 2012 releases to bring us the exotic Silhouettes LP via Paxico Records. This instrumental production drifts far away from Cloud.’s traditional boom-bap/soul sound in favor of a more experimental vibe. Never without his signature sample flips, however, Cloud. still sounds like Cloud. in that he chops samples like no other. From funk and soul to disco and pop, the producer’s soundscapes vary and feature a vibrant set of colors far more electronic in their nature than ever before. Partially influenced by house and dance, Silhouettes puts Cloud. in a whole new light as a producer and shows the capabilities and versatility that this young musician possesses. Unfortunately, all twenty-four copies of the hand-dubbed casette tapes are gone, but with enough demand, maybe we can encourage a reprint! You can still download the album via Bandcamp.
