Cloud.: Ice Cream Cola (Redux) [2008]

Ice Cream Cola [Redux]

If you didn’t know about Cloud., we posted two of his beats (“All In Love” and “Trust Me“) that actually come from this very album. What is most dominant about this album is that it’s really different from a lot of other instrumental projects out there. Cloud.’s production style is very unique in that, unlike other producers who take samples, chop them up, and make them sound fluent and smooth, Cloud. capitalizes on the chopping aspect of beat-making and keeps that broken-sound the foundation of all of his sampled beats. “All In Love” and “Trust Me” are definitely the top two beats on Ice Cream Cola [Redux], but all of these tracks are dope, including “Slider,” which features a jazzy loop with very loud drums, “H.E.R.,” which has a Rhodes piano sample as the foundation with just some kicks and clacks to give it a backbone, and “Hart St.,” which features a soulful vocal loop, chopped up with some guitar and other instruments, layered with a tranquil set of percussion, including a recurrent tambourine. You can tell how into these beats I am because there is really nobody I know quite like Cloud. Top-notch producer and this is by far his greatest album. What’s even better about this album is that you can stream and download the entire album for FREE below, courtesy of Cloud.’s very own Bandcamp. Check it out and enjoy!
