Elaquent: In Colour (Dirty Loops) [2007]

In Colour (Dirty Loops)

Imagine a spaced-out J Dilla mashed with the genre-bending Ta-Ku. That’s the experience and sound of Canadian producer, Elaquent. I’ve already mentioned my favorite track “Sci-Fi (Silver)” off of this album in a post a while back. Every beat on this album gets better and better with more and more listens. The album progresses from, in my opinion, good beats to extra-terrestrial dopeness by the end of the tape. Whether it’s “Attack (Red)” or “Testify (Gold)” or “Catching Some Zees (Yellow),” every color is fully and beautifully expressed through instrumental hip hop music. Elaquent is a wizard with the beats and I love listening to his albums for they provide me with such a phenomenal listening experience I can’t get while listening to any other producer. If you love instrumental hip hop, Elaquent is another producer you gotta add to your favorites. Since this album is so hard to find and isn’t on Elaquent’s Bandcamp, I’m going to say that it is ok for you to grab a FREE download of this – I mean, you just have to hear this. After listening, you’ll want to go buy more Elaquent music – yes you will.
