Out of the greatest pains in life can come the most beautiful art, but as selfish as that sounds, this holds true for soul singer Nick Price‘s emotive and jazzy EP, Wander Lost. As the Moovmnt website notes:

“Wander Lost was born from a place of immense frustration. Nick Price had just spent six months in his newly adopted home, Los Angeles, and things weren’t happening the way he had planned. His work as a songwriter was suffering and as he tried to write in different idioms and for different voices, he strayed further from the obvious path. Which was to write for nobody else but Nick Price. At some point the levy broke and the scale tipped.”

On Wander Lost, Nick Price’s falsetto vocals sway over gorgeous production lush with punchy drums, and both jazzy and funky accompaniments. The minimal bass riffs on “Cabin Built For Two” gives room for rhodes chords to ring out along Nick Price’s poetic verses, while a grand piano lulls along Price’s light vocals. The lead single “Naked Souls” is easily a favorite for its well-rounded catchiness and its deep vocal/lyrical and musical elements. Wander Lost was born out of stress and frustration, but out of it comes new life through fantastic music that has surely makes an impression on all who listen.
