The Brooklyn neo-soul band known as The Outlaw Collective recently released a decorated project lush in multi-genre elements, and it’s hard to say why we hadn’t heard Off The Grid before. Receiving their namesake from the band’s drummer/producer Cameron Outlaw, The Outlaw Collective uses the talents of other musicians and artists, that of singer Melanie Charles, keyboardist Javi Santiago, and bassist Mike Forzano. Together, these minds come together to blend electronic, jazz and neb-soul into a smooth display of what I unofficially dub as experimental-electronic lounge music.
